The Blackwater River Watershed Stewardship Committee is a collaborative group of stakeholders and stewards representing governmental and non-governmental organizations who work to promote stewardship and education throughout the Blackwater River Watershed, by: 1) Identifying issues; 2) Developing sustainable solutions; and 3) Protecting and restoring the natural systems of the watershed so ecological, cultural, and economic integrity will be preserved for future generations.

The Committee formulates, revises and implements the Blackwater Stewardship Master Plan.  Committee members represent various interests related to the Blackwater River, including regulation, recreation, management, and stewardship.

Committee members serve without compensation and receive no reimbursement for expenses. Criteria to serve on the committee includes proven interest and expertise in stewardship and education matters related to the Blackwater River system, and the availability to participate in monthly meetings either in person or by teleconference.
