Backgrounder
What is the Bagdad Waterfronts Partnership? In 2005, the State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs designated the Village of Bagdad as a Waterfronts Florida Partnership Community, and will work with us on revitalization of our community. The initial partners were State of Florida, Department of Community Affairs, Santa Rosa County and the Blackwater River Foundation (the program applicant). For a list of current partners, contact the Bagdad Partnership office. Who can participate? Anyone interested in the Village of Bagdad revitalization efforts can participate. There is no fee and everyone is welcome. The Partnership works through five citizen subcommittees to further its goals and objectives of revitalization. Those committees conduct monthly meetings separate from regular steering committee meetings but report to the steering committee for decisions. Those subcommittees include the following: 1.) Public Access to the Waterfront 2.) Environmental Resource Protection 3.) Cultural Resource Protection 4.) Hazard Mitigation and Public Safety 5.) Economic Development and Revitalization Find out more about Waterfronts Florida To find out more about other Waterfronts communities, or for more information on the Florida Coastal Management Program and the Waterfronts Florida Partnership Community program, visit the following Web sites: Get on our mailing list!
